Meet Scotty & Gabi McCreery’s Baby Boy, Merrick “Avery”
Scotty McCreery and his wife, Gabi, welcomed their first child in October. They had a son, and named him Merrick “Avery.” His first name is in honor of Gabi’s father, who shares the same moniker. But they simply call him Avery.
It’s hard to believe that Avery is now seven months old. Scotty and Gabi have kept their followers updated as he’s grown by sharing milestone photos on social media.

At such a young age, baby Avery is already proving to be quite the chatterbox! One video Scotty recently shared shows seven-month-old Avery seemingly repeating after him.

Scotty had Avery on his lap, and Avery was playing with his sunglasses. Right before Gabi started filming, Scotty had asked Avery what he was doing. Avery then mumbled something that sure made it sound like he repeated the EXACT question back to his father.
Shocked and wondering if he heard correctly, Scotty turned to face Gabi. He was obviously stunned! Gabi apparently heard the same thing, as she giggled in response.

“Did you just repeat what I said?” Scotty asked Avery. “Sure sounded like it.” Though the little fella was too absorbed in playing with Scotty’s sunglasses to babble anything else.
When he shared the video on Facebook, Scotty captioned it, “Avery skipping over first words and going straight to sentences??”
Many of Scotty’s followers agreed that it sounded like Avery repeated “What are you doing?” Or at least, whatever he babbled sounded awfully close to it!
