After getting “so many” requests from fans, Al Robertson has shared a new update on his mom, Miss Kay, and her health.
2025 was a difficult year for Duck Dynasty star Kay Robertson. Her husband, Phil, passed away on May 25 after battling a blood disorder and Alzheimer’s disease.
Kay also struggled with her health last year. She suffered a “horrific” fall that resulted in a “terrible” cut on her leg. Her son, Jase, said the injury was so severe, he “thought it was life-threatening.”
It took some time to heal, but Kay made a miraculous recovery. She was feeling well enough by June 2025 to appear on the Duck Call Room podcast to dispel rumors and false reports about her health. Al noted that Kay was healthier at that time than she had been in a while.
Al and Jase shared another update on Miss Kay in December, saying, “She’s doing amazing. She seems to have turned a corner and is doing really good.“
Because Miss Kay is so beloved in the Duck Dynasty community, many fans have been asking after her health in recent weeks. This prompted Al to share a post addressing their concerns. Thankfully, he had good news to share!
“So many of you ask, ‘How’s Miss Kay doing?’ I’m happy to report she’s doing really, really well,” Al wrote on Instagram on June 1, 2026.
Al joked that recently, Kay has decided her “favorite son” is whoever brings her food. He thinks he should move up in the rankings whenever he takes her to Olive Garden, which she loves.
Al shared a picture of himself and Kay at Olive Garden while enjoying a bowl of their famous salad. He wrote, “Her smile says it all.”
After everything Miss Kay has been through with her health and Phil’s death, Al said, “none of us take it for granted when we get to hear her laugh and chatter over a meal.”

Duck Dynasty fans breathed a big sigh of relief when they read Al’s post. It was encouraging to see and hear that Kay is doing so well!
