Austin Brown Is A Former Member Of Home Free

Home Free is an a cappella group comprised of five singers. The band has been performing together since the early 2000s as a touring group, but made it big in 2013 when they appeared in the a cappella singing competition The Sing-Off.

The band stood out from the rest of the competition with their country covers. In fact, their cover of “Ring of Fire” nearly won them the whole competition on the spot.

Home Free consisted of members Austin Brown, Tim Foust, Adam Rupp, Rob Lundquist, and Chris Rupp, and they were crowned the champions of The Sing-Off Season Four on December 23, 2013.

They continued to perform and post their incredible music videos on YouTube for the next several years, and even handled personel changes beautifully. Founding member Chris Rupp left the group in 2016 and was replaced by Adam Chance.

His fans seemed extremely excited and even called the show “Austin’s Got Talent.”

Brown performed “When A Man Loves A Woman” on his episode, which aired on Tuesday, June 3rd. His wife, Amberlyn, was there to support him from side stage alongside host Terry Crews.

Judges Mel B. and Sofia Vergara looked visibly impressed by Brown’s talent, while Cowell appeared disinterested. During the performance, we couldn’t get a read on Howie Mandell, but he didn’t mince his words once he was able to judge.

“My feeling is this. That was really, really good, and really heartfelt. It was beautiful, but this is Season 20, and it’s gotta be way more than just beautiful and way more than just good. That was really good singing,” Mandell said while the audience booed his response.

Cowell didn’t give feedback, he just asked for his fellow judges to vote on Brown. Mandell voted no, while Mel B. and Vergara voted yes. Cowell hesitated, while listening to the audience cheering. Unfortunately, the audience couldn’t get Cowell to change his mind, and he also voted no.

Brown even offered to sing a different song, but the head judge told him there was no time. Unfortunately, his time on AGT came to an end quicker than we all thought, but it still seems like it was a great experience for him.
