The flames of love still burn bright after two decades of marriage for these Nashville sweethearts. Even on stage, in front of thousands of fans, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw’s passion for each other was palpable as they performed their romantic duet, “I Need You.”
During a concert in August 2012, the “This Kiss” singer was so overwhelmed with emotion that she nearly collapsed in her husband’s arms. As they sang the heartfelt lyrics, “Like the Father and the Son need the Holy Ghost, I need you,” Hill’s voice cracked, and tears streamed down her face.
Their love story began when they toured together on the Spontaneous Combustion Tour in 1996. From the moment they met, their connection was undeniable. They fell deeply in love, and by the end of that same year, they were married. Since then, they have welcomed three beautiful daughters into their family.
Their bond is unbreakable, and they make a point to never be apart for more than three consecutive days. It’s no wonder why McGraw gushed, “I’m lucky to have her. She’s the light of our whole family’s life. [Faith] keeps everything going for us, and we all strive to be like my wife – everybody in my family. So I think that if your wife holds the example for everybody in the family, then that’s a good thing.”
Their song “I Need You” captures the essence of their love, a love so strong that they are unable to imagine life without each other. It’s no surprise that the ballad swept the charts and earned two Grammy nominations in 2008.
