Hayley Erbert is making a comeback to the dance floor following her challenging health journey.

The 29-year-old dancer and wife of Derek Hough will reunite with him on the Symphony of Dance Tour after overcoming a traumatic brain injury and subsequent health struggles.

On Friday’s Good Morning America, Hayley revealed that she has been cleared to dance again.

“Hi everyone, I am so excited to announce that I have been cleared to rejoin the Symphony of Dance tour and I will be dancing when the tour begins on April 14 in Melbourne, Florida,” Hayley shared.

“We cannot wait to dance together again on stage and be back with all of our fans and thank them,” Derek added. “Thank you all for the amazing support that you’ve shown during this time, so we cannot wait and we’ll see you very very soon.”

Additional dates were added to the tour in February, including stops in Virginia Beach, Virginia; Cedar Park, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Los Angeles, California; and more. The tour concluded with a final stop in San Diego, California, on May 19.

Accompanied by a video of Hayley and Derek rehearsing together again, Hayley shared with her social media followers that she’s making a comeback.

“What a blessing (and surprise) it is to be able to be back on stage dancing with my love after such a crazy past four months. My healing journey has been nothing short of extraordinary and being able to dance again is igniting my soul in all the ways; speeding up my recovery even more.”

Hayley continued her post by expressing gratitude for all the doctors and specialists who have taken care of her health and safety, as well as supported her decision to return to dancing.

“I cannot wait for you all to see this show! It was so meaningful when we opened last year and now, after everything that has happened, it is truly even more special.”

What Happened To Hayley Erbert?

On December 6, Hayley was hurried to the hospital after experiencing disorientation during a performance on the couple’s tour stop in Washington, D.C.

She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma resulting from a burst blood vessel, necessitating an emergency craniectomy. This injury subsequently led to another extensive and painful surgery, where a significant portion of her skull was replaced.

Throughout the last few painful months, Derek did an excellent job of sharing updates and keeping fans informed about Hayley’s progress in her recovery.

Derek Hough Dedicates Award To Hayley

In January, professional dancer and choreographer Derek Hough achieved a significant victory when he won the Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography.

Derek received the nomination for choreographing Michael Bublé’s “Higher,” which was showcased on Dancing with the Stars.

He dedicated the award to his wife, Hayley.

“To my beautiful wife. Your strength and your courage this whole month has been unbelievable. You inspire me every day.”

In February, she shared a health update, revealing that she has a “new outlook on life.”

“To this day, I still have really good days and I have really bad days — emotionally and physically sometimes — but I’m doing so much better every single day. Truly there is so much progress every day, and I’m so grateful for that.”

We’re thrilled to hear that Hayley will be able to dance alongside her husband again and wish her continued health and happiness!
