Darci Lynne Was 12 Years Old When She Won America’s Got Talent
Darci Lynne made quite the impression when she auditioned for America’s Got Talent in 2017. Then 12 years old, Darci left the judges in awe of her talent as a singer and ventriloquist.

Darci eventually won her season of AGT. Since then, she’s gone on tour, had her own Christmas special, and acted in the Netflix movie A Cowgirl’s Song.
She has returned to AGT several times over the years as well. She competed on the spin-off The Champions in 2019, and came in second place.
More recently, Darci appeared on another AGT spin-off, Fantasy League. For her performance, now 19-year-old Darci decided to showcase “a new side” of herself. She stepped away from her puppet Petunia mid-song to sing on her own and play guitar.
Darci said now that she’s older, she’d like to be known for more than just ventriloquy. She also shared her plans to release her debut single, “Push Our Luck,” on February 5, 2024.
She Showcases Her Extraordinary Talent In New Video Singing “Yodeling Cowgirls”
But Darci isn’t saying “goodbye” to her puppets for good. She proved this by sharing a new video of her performing with her cowgirl puppet, Katie.
Katie is one of Darci’s most beloved puppets. She’s performed with her for years, even before her days on AGT. On one occasion, she performed “I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart” on Little Big Shots UK with Katie.
Fans have always been amazed by Darci when she sings with Katie, since Katie is a yodeling cowgirl. That means whenever Darci yodels as Katie, she keeps her mouth closed the entire time. Yodeling is hard enough, so imagine how challenging it must be without moving your lips!
The new video Darci shared in 2024 shows her singing a cover of “Yodeling Cowgirls” with Katie. She took turns singing as herself and as Katie, though performed as Katie most of the time.
Once Darci (as Katie) dives into the fast-paced yodeling at the end, you’ll be left asking “how does she do that?” Her talent is truly out of this world!
