Dale Jr. & Ryan Blaney Appear On The Kelly Clarkson Show To Surprise A 7-Year-Old Girl Who Dreams Of Being A NASCAR Driver
Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Ryan Blaney recently stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show to speak about their new Netflix show, NASCAR: Full Speed. While there, they helped surprise one young NASCAR fan who wants to follow in their footsteps (or rather, tire tracks).
7-year-old Ashlyn dreams of becoming a race car driver. She already has some experience, since she’s been racing for the past three years!
Ashlyn comes from a family of racers. Her mom, dad, and brother have all raced cars before. “…and sometimes I even wish my dog could race,” she said.
Ashlyn currently competes in quarter midget racing. Ryan said that’s actually how he got started racing cars himself. He was nine at the time, so Ashlynn already has a head start on him!
Ashlyn Asks Dale Jr. & Ryan For Advice
Kelly asked Ashlyn if she had any questions for Dale Jr. and Ryan.
She asked the drivers, “When you guys go to a different race, how do you know to put the pedal down, like go full throttle, or lift in the corners?”
Dale Jr. responded, “I think, you know, just taking your time, working yourself up to speed at a new track. Maybe going around and asking some of the veterans how they drive the track and getting some help from them. But [it’s] just [about] going out there and working yourself up to speed, and getting that confidence.“
Then, Dale Jr. and Ryan surprised Ashlyn with some special gifts. They gave her their racing gloves! Ryan’s gloves were extra special because he wore that particular pair when he won the championship in Phoenix.
Kelly also gave Ashlyn VIP NASCAR tickets for her, her parents, and her brother.
