Cody Johnson And His Wife, Brandi, Recently Welcomed Their First Son
The couple also shares two daughters, Clara Mae (10) and Cori (8).
Almost exactly one year ago, Cody and Brandi surprised everyone when they revealed they were expecting baby #3 while walking the red carpet right before the Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2025.
The two posed for photos together as Brandi’s small baby bump completely stole the spotlight.
They also used the moment to reveal the baby’s gender. They shared that they were about to welcome their first baby boy.
A couple of months later, Cody told the story of how Brandi surprised him with the happy news that she was pregnant.
“So Brandi did this weird thing where she was like, she texted me, she ran to town and she’s like, ‘Hey, can you come out to the barn and help me unload my truck?’ And I was like, ‘Okay,’ he recalled during a July interview with Cody Alan on SiriusXM’s The Highway.
He continued, “Like, you know, I go out there and it’s this like little bitty box and I’m like, ‘You 100% could have done this yourself.’ And so I unload the box and she’s like, ‘Oh, and I do have one more thing in there if you can get that.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay.’ It’s this little bitty box,” Johnson said. “I unload it and I’m trying to figure out what’s going on. And she’s like, ‘Oh, by the way, here you can have this too.’ And it was a pregnancy test.”
Cody and Brandi never made an official birth announcement on social media. However, the “Till You Can’t” singer later confirmed their son’s arrival during an appearance on Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton last year.
Cody shared that their baby boy was born on October 21 and named Jaycee Daniel Johnson.
Cody Johnson Gives A Rare Update On His Son
Since the birth of baby Jaycee, Cody and Brandi have kept things fairly private. They haven’t shared photos of him over the last six months, and they rarely mention him publicly.
But recently, Cody made another appearance on Country Countdown USA and gave an update on what life has been like as a dad of three.
“He’s doin’ great. He’s fat and happy,” he shares about Jaycee.
Cody admits that he definitely notices a difference between raising a son compared to being solely a girl dad.
“The biggest difference is that with my girls, they were daddy’s little girls. They loved to cuddle and snuggle up. But anytime Brandi walks in the room, he goes ‘Mama, mama’… So I’m chopped liver around my house,” he jokes.
“He’s spoiled rotten,” Cody adds. “Not only does he have Brandi, but he also has those two little girls. It’s a beautiful thing to watch.”
Cody knows that life is exactly as it should be, and he couldn’t be happier with his full and busy home.
“I didn’t picture myself being 38 years old with a six month old,” he says. “It’s one of the best thing that’s ever happened. We could not be more thankful.”
