CMT Music Awards Announce Female Video of the Year

The brightest stars in country music gathered tonight at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas for the 2024 CMT Music Awards hosted by Country Music Television. The annual fan-voted awards show promised to include “electrifying performances and tributes to industry legends” and it did just that.

The evening was full of memorable performances including an emotional tribute to the late, great Toby Keith.

Kelsea Ballerini returned to host the show for the fourth consecutive year and was tied for the most nominations alongside Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, and Megan Moroney, each receiving three nods a piece.

The CMT Music Awards announce the winner for Female Video of the Year

Television journalist Gayle King presented the award for Female Video of the Year. This award celebrates the female country music artist who fans believe had the best music video from the previous year.

Each of these leading ladies has demonstrated impressive star power over the last year and each deserves recognition for their contributions to country music.

The award for the CMT Female Video of the Year goes to… Lainey Wilson!

Lainey Wilson wins the award for her music video for “Watermelon Moonshine.” The song was released on her 2022 album Bell Bottom Country and became her fifth #1 hit song. Hear her acceptance speech below!

She joins the likes of Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, and Miranda Lambert who have won the award before her. The Louisiana native shared that she felt “so honored” to be a part of the category along with so many powerhouse women of country.
