Clint Black Forced To Cancel Headlining Appearance At Upcoming Event

Country singer Clint Black was scheduled to headline the upcoming Black Gold Bash at the Horseshoe Amphitheater in Midland, Texas. However, the “Killin’ Time” singer was forced to cancel his appearance due to some less-than-ideal circumstances.

The Midland Reporter-Telegram shared the news of Black’s cancellation. According to the publication, Black “backed out due to a medical emergency.”

A member of Black’s team spoke in a press release about the situation. Black’s team member said:

Based on the advice of his doctors, Clint needs to undergo a procedure on his back prior to this performance.”

The Black Gold Bash is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7. The event is hosted by Oilfield Helping Hands, and helps raise funds for oil industry workers and their families who need financial assistance. This is Black Gold Bash’s fifth year.

Since Black is unable to perform at this year’s Black Gold Bash, a replacement was found. According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, fellow country singer Clay Walker will now perform during the Black Gold Bash in Black’s place. He will take to the stage at 9 PM. The Rick Carr Band and Coddy Hibbard will perform earlier in the day.

According to Black’s website, he’s scheduled to return to the stage on Saturday, June 24. That will serve as the kickoff of his Summer’s Comin’ Tour.

We’ll be keeping Black in our thoughts and prayers as he prepares for and undergoes surgery. May he have a quick and complete recovery.
