Carrie Underwood Welcomes New Addition To Her Family

Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher share two sons, Isaiah and Jacob. The boys have two furry friends to play with at home: dogs Penny and Zero.

The Fisher family lost another one of their beloved pets last year. Carrie’s dog, Ace, passed away in April 2022. He had been with her for years, even before she married Mike in 2010.

“He was there for me when I was on my own trying to figure out life when it was at its craziest!” Carrie said in a tribute to Ace on social media. “He was with me through 3 houses, 6 tours and 2 kids…always ready to snuggle and play…through all the highs and lows. He was a true friend and a good boy till the very end. I love you, sweet Ace…see you on the other side…”

Now, Carrie has opened up her heart and home to a new furry friend.

Carrie shared the news of her family’s new addition during a concert in Charolette, North Carolina. According to The Charolette Observer, she told the crowd, “I adopted a puppy.” She added, “Don’t tell my children. It’s a surprise.”

When someone asked Carrie what breed her new puppy is, she says she doesn’t know. “I don’t know. The best kind. The rescue kind. We’re shelter dog people. That’s how we roll.”

Carrie said her sons had “been wanting [a new dog] for awhile.” She said they had been looking for the perfect addition to their family for some time.

…we’ve been looking for one for a while and I think we found — well, I know we found — our girl,” she said.

Carrie has always had a soft spot in her heart for dogs. She once recorded a song called “The More Boys I Meet,” in which she sings about how she loves her dog even more after dating some less-than-impressive men. Listen to that song below.

We can’t wait to see a photo of Carrie’s new puppy! You can tell she’s already head-over-heels in love with her.
