The highly-anticipated reunion between Carrie Underwood and Axl Rose took place in New Brunswick, Canada, over the weekend.

The country star joined Guns N’ Roses for the first of three dates on their summer tour and they teamed up for some of the rock band’s iconic songs. Carrie Underwood is a long-time fan of Guns N’ Roses, even inviting the band’s frontman, Axl Rose, to join her onstage twice in 2022 and again in 2023.

She and Axl shared the stage at Stagecoach in California and during a Guns N’ Roses gig in London in 2022. They collaborated once again in early 2023 at Crypto.com Arena when Underwood surprised her crowd by inviting Axl Rose on stage to perform “Welcome to the Jungle.”

The band returned the favor by inviting the three-time ACM Entertainer of the Year to join them for a few select dates on their summer 2023 tour.

On Saturday night (August 5), Carrie opened for the rock legends with an 18-song set that included some of her biggest hits. She also snuck in some rock covers like Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” the Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses,” Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades” and “Rock and Roll” by Led Zeppelin. She also covered Heart’s 1987 hit “Alone,” a song that she first performed during her run on American Idol in 2005.

Fans in attendance at the weekend concert praised Carrie’s solo set, but were even more impressed when Axl invited the country star to join him onstage to sing some Guns N’ Roses tunes with him.

Carrie shared the stage with Axl and the gang to sing “Paradise City” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” both 1987 hits from their debut studio album, Appetite For Destruction.

Carrie Underwood will join Guns N’ Roses again on Tuesday (August 8) in Montreal and in her hometown of Nashville on August 26.
