Season 22 of The Voice premieres on September 19. But the coaches and crew have already been hard at work on the new season, since the auditions, battles, and knockouts are all pre-taped.
Because of this, coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Camila Cabello already know who their team advisors are for this season’s battles. The coaches started hinting toward their advisors’ identities in videos they shared to social media on Tuesday (August 16).
Shelton offered three hints about his advisor. They were:
- “He’s known for rocking some pretty crazy outfits on the stage.”
- “This artist has collaborated with someone in our ‘Voice’ family’s family.”
- “Guys, this dude can bowl.”
Shelton’s restaurant and music venue Ole Red dropped an additional hint in the comments, saying, “We think we know and we’re pretty sure…he’s performed on our stage.”

Based on those hints, many of Shelton’s fans guessed his team advisor was “Best Shot” singer Jimmie Allen. After all, Allen is known for his fun outfits, he sang a duet with former Voice coach Miley Cyrus‘ sister Noah, and he is en excellent bowler.
Fans didn’t have to wait to long to find out if their guesses were correct. Shelton revealed the name of his team advisor on Wednesday (August 17)…and it is Allen!
“I couldn’t keep it a secret any longer… Welcome to #TeamBlake, @jimmieallen!!! #TheVoice,” Shelton wrote alongside a photo of him and Allen in rehearsal. You can see the picture below.
As for the other advisors, Sean Paul will be working with Stefani, Jazmine Sullivan will be assisting Legend, and Charlie Puth will be helping Cabello. We can’t wait to see them all on The Voice this season!
