The blind auditions for Season 25 of NBC’s hit singing show The Voice are underway and the talent this year continues to impress.

All coaches turn around for Valerie T. Webb’s blind audition

43-year-old Valerie T. Webb, Val for short, is a mother of two from Birmingham, AL but currently residing in New Braunfels, TX. She took the Voice stage with her rendition of Deborah Cox’s 1998 hit “Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here.” Quickly, her sultry voice and effortless runs caught the attention of the coaches and resulted in an impressive four-chair turn!

Webb received a standing ovation for her performance.

Val’s ease on stage was that of a seasoned professional. She shared that she has been a worship director for many years and also sings background for professional artists.

After her audition, it was time for each of the coaches to impress Val, in hopes that the powerhouse singer would join their team. All four acknowledged their own background of faith and the church to relate to the soulful singer.

John Legend shared his thoughts first. He tells Val, “You just handled it with such poise and grace… Your tone is just so elegant.

Shay Mooney, of Dan + Shay, commented, “I think we can all agree that this is really special. You have such a light… You are a star.

Dan Smyers echoed his co-coach’s praise, adding that Val’s audition was “one of the best performances we’ve seen.

Chance The Rapper told the hopeful contestant that he would love the opportunity to work with her, adding that her breath control is “ridiculous.

Finally, Reba threw her hat in the ring. She told Val, “You look like a beautiful woman that loves to sing for the Lord – as I do – and we’d have a great time together. I’d love to be your coach.”

Val T. Webb makes the decision to join… Team Chance!

Val claims the last spot on Team Chance. She explains that she chose her coach based off of what she saw from him in Season 23 of the show:

“The way that he helped shape and mold his artists was simply incredible, and I’m looking for that in a Coach. I’m looking for somebody that can bring all that creativity out.”
