Brad Arnold, The Lead Singer Of 3 Doors Down, Reveals He Has Stage 4 Kidney Cancer
On Wednesday, May 7, Brad Arnold, 46, shared a video on the rock band’s official Instagram account. In it, he opened up to fans about the personal health battle he’s been facing.
He began by saying he has “some not-so-good news” to share. Arnold then explained that after feeling sick a few weeks ago, he decided to get checked out at a hospital.
That’s when he received the diagnosis of clear cell renal cell carcinoma. The singer said that it was already classified as stage 4 and has since spread to his lungs.
According to the National Cancer Institute, clear cell renal cell carcinoma is the most common type of kidney cancer in adults, making up about 80% of all cases. Treatment typically involves surgery and immunotherapy, depending on how far the cancer spreads.

Arnold did reassure fans that he isn’t worried, however. Instead, he shared that he’s placing his faith in God to help him through this.
“We serve a mighty God, and He can overcome anything. So I have no fear. I really, sincerely am not scared of it at all,” Arnold said.

He confirmed that, because of his shocking diagnosis, the band has decided to cancel their upcoming tour. They were scheduled to kick off the new run of shows later this month.
“And we’re sorry for that,” Arnold apologized. “And I’d love for you to lift me up in prayer every chance you get.”
Arnold is the original founder of the Grammy-nominated band 3 Doors Down, which formed in 1996. The group quickly rose to fame with their breakout hit “Kryptonite,” a song Arnold famously wrote when he was just 15 years old during his high school math class.
