The first surveillance video allegedly showing Morgan Wallen throwing a chair off the sixth story of a Nashville bar has been made public.
Country singer Morgan Wallen found himself at the center of a legal matter in downtown Nashville earlier this week.
Wallen was arrested on felony charges following an incident at Chief’s, a newly opened bar owned by Eric Church. The arrest occurred early on Monday morning after an altercation involving a chair being thrown off the rooftop of the bar, landing near two Metro Nashville police officers stationed outside. Witnesses stated that Wallen was responsible for the chair being thrown.
According to authorities, the chair landed dangerously close to the officers, approximately three feet away. Surveillance footage from the establishment was reviewed, reportedly showing Wallen throwing an object over the roof. As a result, Wallen was taken into custody and charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He was booked into Metro Jail but later released after posting a bond of $15,250.
Now, the first available footage of the incident has been released to the public.
Recently released surveillance footage obtained by TMZ apparently shows the moment the chair was thrown off the rooftop of Chief’s.
His attorney made a public statement confirming Wallen’s cooperation with authorities but did not provide further details regarding the incident.
“At 10:53 p.m. Sunday evening, Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct,” his attorney stated. “He is cooperating fully with authorities.”
Wallen has yet to make a statement regarding the arrest or the released footage.
He is set to appear in court on May 3rd, aligning with his scheduled concerts at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on May 2nd and 3rd.
