Duck Dynasty’s Kay Robertson Has Had Several Ups And Downs With Her Health Over The Past Year

Since February, Kay Robertson, better known as Miss Kay, has experienced a few health scares.

The 77-year-old suffered a serious fall and a cut to her leg that led to an infection and required surgery. Her son, Jase, even said that the injury was so bad he “thought it was life-threatening.”

Eventually, though, she managed to make a full recovery.

With Kay’s injury that left her barely able to walk, along with her husband Phil Robertson’s ongoing health problems, the couple decided to leave their longtime Louisiana home and move closer to town so they could better access the care they needed.

Phil had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and a blood disorder, and he sadly passed away on May 25.

After Phil’s death, Kay’s mental and physical health seemed to decline. She developed depression from losing her partner of 60 years.

Fans of the Robertson family became even more worried as rumors began to spread about how serious Kay’s condition was.

AI-generated photos claiming she was in terrible shape, and false reports that she had passed away, had only added to everyone’s concerns.

Well, in June, Miss Kay herself put those rumors to rest when she made an appearance on the Duck Call Room podcast.

“She lives! You live mom,” her oldest song, Al, had said during the episode.

Kay jokingly responded, “Thank goodness! I’m tired of being dead.”

In August, the Robertsons also confirmed that Miss Kay was doing well enough that she no longer needed assisted living. She was able to move back to the family property.

How Is Miss Kay Doing Now?

On a recent episode of the family’s Unashamed podcast, Al and Jase shared another update on how their mom is doing, and thankfully, she’s continuing to improve.

“She’s doing amazing,” Al reassured. “She seems to have turned a corner and is doing really good.”

Miss Kay was even able to attend Thanksgiving with the family, which Al said “she was excited, happy” about.

Another big update is that Miss Kay is getting ready to move into her own place.

She’s doing well enough now that she doesn’t need help from a caretaker or family anymore and can finally live on her own again.

“We’re super excited about that,” Al added. “And thank you for the prayers.”
