Reba McEntire has a beef with Taylor Swift over the “Shake It Off” singer’s new relationship with NFL player Travis Kelce, but it’s all in good fun.
During an interview with the TODAY Show on Thursday (Oct. 12), Reba confessed that her longtime crush on Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce. Reba was on the show to promote her new book, Not That Fancy, but conversation turned to Swift and Kelce.
“Oh, my gosh, I am so mad at her because I had a crush on him,” McEntire joked. “Now I can’t have a crush anymore because he’s dating her.”
Reba jokingly added that she was “devastated” over the news, even calling Kelce her boyfriend and saying that he cheated on her. But, Reba’s real-life boyfriend, Rex Linn, wasn’t concerned or surprised the “Fancy” singer’s crush revelation.

McEntire says that she and Linn regularly watch Chiefs games together and she regularly comments on Kelce.
“We were watching him play because I love the Chiefs and I love Patrick, and I’d say, ‘Oh, he’s so cute. Oh, he’s so cute,’” she says.
The singer also shared that Linn teased her after news of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship surfaced.
“When he and Taylor started dating, Rex said, ‘Your boyfriend’s got another girlfriend.’ I said, ‘Rub it in.’”
Linn knows that he has nothing to be concerned about when it comes to Reba’s affections.
The pair began dating in 2020, nearly 30 years after first meeting on the set of The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw. They reconnected when both were working on the television sitcom Young Sheldon years later.
On Monday, October 9, McEntire opened up to PEOPLE about her feelings toward Rex Linn after three years of dating.
“He’s a very supportive man, I love him with all my heart,” McEntire said, adding that she and her beau have a routine after her long days of work on The Voice. “Rex meets me at the garage when I get out of the car. He’ll fix me a drink if I need it.”

Reba noted that when she gets home from work she usually doesn’t want to talk after talking her “head off all day long.” So Rex will do the talking and give her a back rub while she relaxes.
The 68-year-old further elaborated on their relationship to Andy Cohen when asked if she would ever get married again. Reba, who has been married twice before, said she isn’t against the idea, but it would ultimately be up to Rex.
“My Sugar Tot? That would be up to him,” she said. “I’ve been married twice, he’s never been married, so if he wants to, that’s totally up to him.”
It’s safe to say that things are serious enough between Reba McEntire and Rex Linn that even Travis Kelce couldn’t come between them. Watch Reba talk about getting married again in the video below.
