Cody Johnson & Reba McEntire Are A Powerhouse Country Duo

Country stars pull out all the stops to entertain their fans during CMA Fest. Attendees can usually count on high-energy sets and surprise collaborations.

Cody Johnson delivered both of those things during his performance at the 2023 CMA Fest.

One of the highlights of Johnson’s performance was when he brought out Reba McEntire for a surprise duet! Though this wasn’t their first time working together.

Johnson and McEntire released a duet, titled “Dear Rodeo,” in 2020. The song was featured on Johnson’s album Ain’t Nothin’ to It, and has been certified Gold by the RIAA.

The pair also released a music video to accompany their duet, and it has over seven million views.

The pair covered McEntire’s #1 single from 1986, “Whoever’s In New England.” To this day, it’s still considered to be one of McEntire’s signature songs.

Johnson has actually covered “Whoever’s In New England” several times before. One video of him performing the song has over two million views on YouTube.

Needless to say, magic happened when Johnson and McEntire united to sing “Whoever’s In New England” during CMA Fest. It was country as could be.
