In a new interview with Piers Morgan that aired Thursday night (Nov. 2), Priscilla Presley opened up about grieving the death of her daughter, Lisa Marie, and recalled their final moments together.

Priscilla Presley, 78, has endured more than her fair share of heartache. Though she and Elvis Presley had already divorced when he died in 1977, his death hit her hard. The couple shared a child, Lisa Marie and Priscilla was tasked with raising their daughter alone in the spotlight.

In recent years, Presley suffered the loss of her mother and her grandson, Benjamin Keough. But, perhaps the most heartbreaking loss came when her only daughter, Lisa Marie, died in January 2023, just two days after appearing alongside her mom at the Golden Globe awards where they were attending in support of the movie, Elvis.

In a new interview, Priscilla Presley candidly spoke about the last time she saw her daughter and how she knew something wasn’t quite right.

“She didn’t look well that night, and I was concerned,” Priscilla recalled of the time they spent together ahead of the Golden Globe awards, adding that Lisa Marie asked good friend, Jerry Schilling, to hold her. “Her heels were high. She had worn them before and I thought, ‘Is she okay?’ She didn’t really look that okay. She looked very frail.”

Priscilla said that she and Lisa Marie “had a few laughs” and were excited to support Austin Butler, who played Elvis in the movie. After the show, Lisa invited her mom to join her at West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont. The pair drove separately and upon arriving at the establishment, Lisa Marie told her mom that she had to go because her “stomach really hurt.”

“I said, ‘Are you okay?’ She said, ‘Yeah, yeah. I just really have to go,'” Priscilla recalled. “We walked to the cars. I hugged her and she went her way and I went mine. That hug was the last hug I gave her.”

“It’s still shocking that we don’t have her. I got that call from her ex-husband, Danny, that I need to go to the hospital … This wasn’t the first time, but I never thought that it was the last,” Priscilla said.

Priscilla began to get emotional as Morgan implied that losing Lisa Marie was was especially difficult due to everything they had been through together.

“It was unbearable,” Presley said. “I lost my mother. I lost my grandson. And I lost my daughter.”

According to Priscilla, the death of Benjamin, who took his own life in 2020, took a toll on Lisa Marie. “He was the love of her life. That child … she adored him. She would do anything for him.”

Priscilla recalled a visit she and Lisa made to Graceland a couple of months before her death. Lisa told her mother that she wasn’t sure she wanted to “be here anymore” and that she was still deeply grieving the loss of her son. Presley recalls Lisa “wanting to leave sooner but the twins were still young. Too young.”

When Piers Morgan expressed how sad that was, Priscilla put her hand up and told him not to talk about it anymore then asked the cameras to stop rolling.
