Alex Drummond Shares She’s Expecting Her Second Child
Last week, “Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond’s oldest daughter, Alex, announced she’s pregnant with her second child!
Alex and her husband, Mauricio, shared the exciting news with a series of adorable photos posted to their Instagram on March 4.
In the pictures, the couple is standing outside with their 1-year-old daughter, Sofia, and their golden retriever, George, while holding ultrasound photos.
“Here we go again!! Another little blessing coming in September,” Alex wrote in the post’s caption. “Thank you Lord for our growing family!”

Alex and Mauricio didn’t make people wait too long to find out whether they were expecting a boy or girl. On Tuesday, March 10, they shared another video that revealed the gender.
They kept it super simple by involving baby Sofia. The video opens with two baby gowns for her to wear. Both have “Big Sister” embroidered on the collar, one in blue and the other in pink.
“Welcome to our non-glamorous gender reveal,” Alex says to the camera while Mauricio sits beside her.
They explained that they hadn’t seen the results yet after receiving them a few hours earlier. Once they put Sofia to bed, they planned to check the results for the first time so they could “fully process” the moment.
Mauricio wore a “Girl Dad” hat, showing that he was betting they were having a girl. Alex, on the other hand, said she had a feeling they were having a boy.
So who was right?
The video cuts from their surprised reactions to a black-and-white clip of Sofia. When the video returns in color, she’s wearing the blue gown, confirming that they’re having a baby boy!
Friends and family flooded the comment section with congratulations for them.
“Soooooooo excited!!!!!” Ree Dummond said about her soon-to-be grandson, adding another comment saying “I mean…wheeeeeeeee!!!! This is gonna be fun 😂”
“Baby boy!!!! Soooo excited,” Alex’s sister, Paige wrote.
