Entertainment Tonight shared an exclusive sneak peek at tonight’s (March 3) American Idol episode.
Katy Perry and Luke Bryan got into some songwriting fun with an original tune from one of the singers.
Following the awe-inspiring performance of Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter, Emmy Russell, who captivated both judges and audiences with her own song on last week’s premiere, ET unveiled another exclusive look at a talented vocalist.

Exclusive Sneak Peek
In a glimpse of tonight’s upcoming episode, promising contestant Aniston Pate stepped onto the stage to debut her original song, “Hummingbird.”
Pate introduced herself as “a tractor driver here to play country music.”
With Dolly Parton-esque vocals, Pate left judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy Perry in awe during her audition.
The Texas native performed her original song inspired by her mother, which she co-wrote with her friend, Davis.
“That’s a great one, really good. I got like four things I want to tell her to do to it,” Bryan expressed about Pate’s song as all three judges applauded her audition.
With a big smile, Pate replied, “Come on, give it to me!”
After suggesting a lyric change to Pate, both Bryan and Perry sang the song with the modified lyrics, having some fun with it.
“Luke Bryan just sang a song that I wrote,” Pate remarked, delighted. “Katy Perry sang a song I wrote too!”
Comparison To Dolly Parton
Richie also commended Pate’s vocals, noting that her singing reminded him of country music icon Dolly Parton.
“About halfway through the first verse, I had to open my eyes and go, ‘Is that you, Dolly?'”
The young singer was taken aback by all the praise, visibly excited after receiving such positive feedback.
A few days ago, Pate took to social media to announce the news about her audition.
