Some brothers and sisters join forces to sing together in a country duo or group. Others break off and have their own solo careers but come together for special collaborations.

Eddie & John Michael Montgomery
Have you ever made this connection before? John Michael Montgomery and Eddie Gentry of Montgomery Gentry are brothers!
John Michael actually got his start singing with Eddie before they each took off in their own directions. They’ve both experienced immense success and racked up countless #1 hits.
Lennon & Maisy
Brad and MaryLynne Stella of the country duo The Stellas share two daughters, Lennon and Maisy. The girls formed their own musical duo when they were cast in the show Nashville as the characters Maddie and Daphne.
Lennon & Maisy released one album together and also had their recordings featured on the Nashville soundtrack. Their version of The Lumineers’ “Ho Hey” peaked at #32 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
Although Lennon and Maisy no longer record as an official duo, they still sing together occasionally.
The Band Perry
Kimberly, Reid, and Neil Perry formed the now-defunct country group The Band Perry. They released several hit songs, including “If I Die Young,” “Better Dig Two,” “Done,” and “Chainsaw.” Additionally, the siblings received a Grammy Award for their rendition of Glen Campbell’s “Gentle On My Mind.”
The group experimented with pop sounds in their later years together. Their last release as a trio was a five-song project called Coordinates, which dropped in 2018.
Kimberly, Reid, and Neil have since gone on to pursue their individual interests.
Brothers Osborne
Brothers John and TJ Osborne are members of the country music duo Brothers Osborne. Together, they have earned multiple hit songs, including “It Ain’t My Fault,” “Stay a Little Longer,” and “21 Summer.”
The duo has won six ACM Awards, five CMA Awards, and one Grammy Award. They’re currently the reigning CMA Duo of the Year.
The Osborne Brothers
Before Brothers Osborne, there was the Osborne Brothers. While they were technically a bluegrass duo, they played a pivotal role in the country music community, too.
The Osborne Brothers featured brothers Bobby and Sonny Osborne. They are perhaps most well-known for being the first to record the song “Rocky Top,” which is now a bluegrass and country music staple.
The Osborne Brothers performed together for several decades before Sonny retired in 2005. He passed away in 2021, and Bobby died in 2023.
The Carter Family/The Carter Sisters
It’s right in the name…The Carter Family has always been a family group. It first started as a trio with Sara Carter, her husband, A.P. Carter, and their sister-in-law, Maybelle Carter (who was married to A.P.’s brother, Ezra).
The first version of the Carter Family disbanded in 1944. After that, Maybelle started singing with her daughters, Anita, June, and Helen Carter, as the Carter Sisters and Mother Maybelle. They eventually started singing under the Carter Family name in 1960.
Sisters Anita, June, and Helen continued to sing and work together throughout their careers. Anita was even the first artist to record “Ring of Fire,” which June co-wrote.
Barbara, Lousie, & Irlene Mandrell
Country singer Barbara Mandrell united with her younger sisters, Lousie and Irlene, to create a variety show called Barbara Mandrell & The Mandrell Sisters. The show, which ran for two seasons from 1980 to 1982, featured musical and comedic sketches from the sisters.
Outside of the show, Babara, Louise, and Irlene all enjoyed their own successful country music careers.
Loretta Lynn & Her Siblings
Loretta Lynn wasn’t the only country singer in her family! Several of her siblings, including her sister Peggy Sue, brother Jay Lee Webb, and sister Crystal Gayle, pursued their own country music careers.
Loretta started her first band, Loretta & The Trailblazers, with her brother Jay Lee. Peggy Sue later joined the band, too. Additionally, both Jay Lee and Peggy Sue pursued solo careers in country music.
Also, Loretta played a huge role in helping Crystal Gayle get her first record deal. Crystal went on to serve as the voice behind iconic country songs such as “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,” “I’ll Get Over You,” and “Talking in Your Sleep.”
The Lynns
Speaking of the Lynn family, Loretta Lynn’s twin daughters, Peggy and Patsy, sang together in a country duo called The Lynns.
Peggy and Patsy released one album as The Lynns. That album contained their hit singles “Nights Like These” and “Woman to Woman.” Those songs led them to receive nominations for Vocal Duo of the Year from the CMA in 1998 and 1999.
SHeDAISY
Sisters Kristyn, Kelsi, and Kassidy Osborn originally performed under the name The Osborn Sisters. In 1999, the country-singing siblings changed their group name to SHeDAISY and released their debut album, The Whole SHeBANG.
That album contained four Top 20 singles: “Little Good-Byes,” “This Woman Needs,” “I Will…But,” and “Lucky 4 You (Tonight I’m Just Me).” Four more albums and many more hit singles followed, including Don’t Worry ’bout a Thing,” “Passenger Seat,” and “Come Home Soon.”
The sisters left their record label in 2010. They haven’t released new music in several years now, but they still share the occasional post on their official Facebook page.
The Kinleys
Heather and Jennifer Kinley are identical twin sisters who formed a now-defunct country music duo called The Kinleys. They released three albums between 1997 and 2004.
The sisters are known for their hit songs “Please,” “Just Between You and Me,” and “Somebody’s Out There Watching.”
Heather and Jennifer were nominated for four CMA Awards and three ACM Awards. They won one ACM Award for Top New Vocal Group or Duo in 1998.
The Kinleys disbanded after releasing their final album, All in the Family, in 2004. They left the music industry behind to focus on their families.
Dolly Parton & Her Siblings
Dolly Parton has 11 brothers and sisters…and many of them pursued country music careers of their own!
Her younger sister, Stella, released her debut country album in 1975 and still sings today.
Their brother, Randy (who died in 2021), released his first country album in 1978. He was also the first artist to record the song “Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler),” which later became a big hit for Alabama. Randy also recorded several songs with Dolly and headlined a show at her Dollywood theme park.
Floyd Parton (who died in 2018) co-wrote the song “Nickels and Dimes” with his big sister, and she turned it into a #1 hit. Floyd also wrote the song “Rockin’ Years,” which became a #1 duet for Dolly and Ricky Van Shelton.
Floyd’s twin sister, Freida, performed in a punk rock band. But she also recorded backing vocals for some of Dolly’s country albums.
The youngest Parton sibling, Rachel, sang in a group called Honey Creek with her big brother Randy.
The Swon Brothers
Zach and Colton Swon of The Swon Brothers became famous as contestants on Season 4 of The Voice in 2013. They were members of Blake Shelton’s team.
The Swon Brothers came in third place that season. They were the first duo to ever make it to the season finale.
Since then, they’ve released multiple country hits, including “Later On” and “Pray for You.”
Tigirlily Gold
Country-singing siblings Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh started their career singing as a duo named Tigirlily. They later extended their name to become Tigirlily Gold.
The sisters started off sharing covers on YouTube before they moved to Nashville. They released their debut single, “Shoot Tequila,” in 2023, which peaked at #43 on the Hot Country Songs chart. Their follow-up single, “I Tried a Ring On,” has climbed as high as the 39th spot on the same chart.
Tigirlily Gold is currently the reigning ACM New Duo or Group of the Year.
The Bellamy Brothers
David and Howard Bellamy formed one of country music’s most iconic duos, the Bellamy Brothers, in 1968. They’re known for their timeless tracks, such as “Let Your Love Flow,” “Sugar Daddy,” Dancin’ Cowboys,” and “For All the Wrong Reasons.”
The Bellamy Brothers are still performing today and released their newest album, Covers from the Brothers, in 2021.
Reba McEntire & Her Siblings
Reba McEntire has two sisters, Susie and Alice, and a brother, Pake. As kids, Reba and her siblings performed together in a group called The Singing McEntires.
Three of the four McEntire children pursued music careers. Reba’s sister, Susie, became a Christian music singer. She also performed as one of Reba’s backup vocalists and sang on some of her albums.
Reba’s brother, Pake, signed with RCA Records in the 1980s. He released multiple hit singles, including “Savin’ My Love for You,” “Bad Love,” and “Every Night.”
Alice is the only McEntire sibling who didn’t pursue a solo music career. But she still performs with her family once in a while. For example, in 2017, she joined Reba, Susie, and their mama Jacqueline to sing “I’ll Fly Away” at the Ryman Auditorium. Watch that performance in the video below.
