Lauren Alaina’s Father, J.J. Suddeth, Died On July 23rd
On July 24th, Lauren Alaina shared the sad news that her father, J.J. Suddeth, passed away the night before (July 23rd). She posted a brief statement on her social media pages, writing:
“We lost my daddy last night, and I really don’t have words yet. I want to let y’all know that I’m not able to play the three shows I had scheduled for this weekend in Savannah, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte as I am going home to be with my family. Thank you for your prayers and understanding.”
The Grand Ole Opry member has since returned to performing and thanked her fans and friends for their support during this difficult time. She offered special thanks to Jason Aldean, who she’s been touring with on his Highway Desperado Tour.
Just a few months ago, J.J. joined Lauren to celebrate as she married Cam Arnold during a stunning ceremony in Nashville. They took some beautiful photos together, and she also wrote him a song that played for their father-daughter dance.
“It was such a special moment during our wedding. I will truly never forget it,” Lauren said when she shared a video of her and her father on her wedding day.
Now, Lauren is sure to treasure those memories even more.

Lauren Shares Old Video Of Herself Singing “How Great Is Our God” With Her Dad
Following J.J.’s passing, Lauren found herself revisiting another sentimental video of a memory she made with him. She shared the clip on social media, which shows her singing a beloved worship song with her father several years ago.
The song they performed was Chris Tomlin’s “How Great Is Our God.” Tomlin released the track in 2006, and it reached the #1 spot on the U.S. Christian Songs chart. The song has since been certified Platinum by the RIAA.
Lauren and her father delivered a powerful rendition of the song. They sang together while J.J. accompanied his daughter on guitar.
“I know you’re singing with angels and rejoicing His name,” Lauren captioned the video. “I’ll miss you forever daddy. Your little turd loves you so much.”
