Lauren Alaina And Her Husband, Cam Arnold, Announced on Wednesday, January 22, That They Are Expecting Their First Child
The American Idol alum revealed the news in her latest music video for “Those Kind of Women.” The video ends with Lauren showing off her baby bump, followed by a message that reads, “This video is dedicated to my Momma and our sweet Baby Arnold coming summer 2025.”
Lauren Alaina and her husband are over the moon about welcoming their new baby. In an interview with PEOPLE, Lauren shared how this journey has transformed her and brought them even closer together as they get ready for this exciting new chapter in their lives.
“[I didn’t know] I can love something that I haven’t even really held yet,” she said. “I feel the baby inside me, and it’s kicking me and doing all of the things. It’s like I was the Grinch or something, and my heart grew.”

She also shared her excitement about seeing her husband step into the role of fatherhood. Lauren says that she’s always believed it would be something he was great at.
“I’m looking forward to watching my husband be a dad. He is so obsessed with our animals; he’s a big nurturer in general. In fact, when I was getting ready to marry him, that was something that I knew would be one of the best things about being his wife, was being able to parent with him.”
The parents-to-be have been married for nearly a year now, having exchanged vows in a Nashville ceremony on February 3. They announced their engagement at the Grand Ole Opry after dating privately for two and a half years.

The “Getting Over Him” singer shared that while she and Cam had discussed the idea of starting a family down the line, it wasn’t something they planned for right now. However, Lauren views this as “God’s plan.” She also considers it a special gift from her late father, who passed away in July last year.
“I do think that my dad passed away and got up in heaven and was like, ‘Hey, we got to work something out down there to send the family something good.’ And it has been such an unexpected blessing,” she says. “We obviously still talk about and are dealing with the grief of my dad, but this baby has healed a lot of that for us … like it’s a little piece of my dad that will live on.”
Lauren and Cam also shared that they’ve already chosen a name for their baby. But, they are keeping some details under wraps, including the baby’s sex, for the time being. We do know though that the newborn will be named after a special family member.
