Lauren Alaina Is Telling Mom-Shamers To Mind Their Own Business

Lauren Alaina is standing up to haters who are mom-shaming her over giving her newborn daughter, Beni, bottles.

In a video posted on social media, the country music star responded to recent comments by jumping on a viral trend. The trend features users pretending to speak to someone off-camera before turning back and saying, “Who said that?”—a playful way to share bold opinions or cheeky clapbacks.

“Just because I posted a video of myself washing my daughter’s bottles does not give you the right to shame me and harass me and tell me that I should be breastfeeding my child when in reality I’m triple feeding my child,” Alaina said.

While the country singer said her goal is to exclusively breastfeed, the journey has been met with some unexpected challenges, forcing her to do what she can.

“She can’t latch properly. So we’ve been seeing lactation specialists and feeding specialists to try to resolve the problem. So I am having to bottle feed her, try to latch her and pump every two hours,” Alaina explained.

She then told the shamers to “mind your business.”

“You don’t know me and I don’t know you, and let’s keep it that way,” she said. “Who said that?”

The Country Star And Her Husband Welcome Baby Beni

Alaina and her husband Cam Arnold welcomed their first child on Wednesday June 11th, a baby girl named Beni Doll Arnold. Beni was born at 8:44 am, weighing 7 lbs 13oz and measuring 19 inches long.

The country singer recently explained that the new baby is named in memory of two people in their family who have passed away. The name Beni is after Alaina’s grandfather, Benny, whom she says, “helped raise me, taught me how to play basketball. He bought me my first karaoke machine… he was very proud of that.”

She also discovered that Beni means “crimson” in Japanese. She explains:

“My dad was a huge Alabama fan, and the fact that Beni means crimson feels like my dad said ‘roll tide’ from heaven and told us how to spell it.”

Arnold revealed that the middle name “Doll” was derived from his aunt’s name, Lucy Doll Arnold.

Along with news of her daughter’s arrival, Alaina shared a new song, “Heaven Sent,” with her fans, written for Beni and in honor of her late father, who tragically passed away last year.

“I wasn’t sure when I would share ‘Heaven Sent’ but watching my own husband become a father the last couple of days has made me want to share it with you now. She came just before Father’s Day. My first without my own father. A day that will forever be hard to me, but I now have a new and perfect reason to celebrate it,” Alaina said at the time.
