Meet Lainey Wilson’s Fiancé, Former NFL Star Devlin “Duck” Hodges
Lainey Wilson‘s fiancé, Duck, is tired of seeing all the fake posts online about their relationship.
Lainey and Duck, whose real name is Devlin Hodges, started dating in 2021 after friends introduced them to each other. They dated privately for two years before going public with their relationship at the ACM Awards in 2023.
Duck, a former NFL quarterback who earned his nickname because he’s also a champion duck caller, has since attended multiple events with Lainey.
The couple got engaged on February 12, 2025. Duck proposed on the front steps of George Jones’ former home in Tennessee.

While Lainey and Duck are thrilled to be engaged, they’re in no rush to walk down the aisle. Lainey has joked that since Duck made her “wait” for a proposal, she’s making him wait to get married.
“He made me wait for 4 years I’m gonna make him wait before we start planning this thing,” she teased.
Lainey and Duck don’t know many details about their upcoming wedding. But Lainey knows one thing… she will trade her signature bell-bottoms for a wedding dress.
“I’m going to wear a dress,” she told The Kelleigh Bannen Show. “I hadn’t done the whole dress shopping. We haven’t even picked a date or anything like that. We got some time, but I figured, you know what? I hadn’t worn a dress for him yet, and I guess that would be the day to do it.”
Duck Has A Message For Those Sharing Weird AI Photos Of Him And Lainey
With Lainey Wilson’s status as one of country music’s biggest stars, people are naturally interested in her and her fiancé. Unfortunately, some unscrupulous social media pages have taken advantage of that interest.
The use of AI, or artificial intelligence, continues to increase. People often use it to create images for creative projects, memes, or just for fun. However, others use AI-generated images alongside fake stories to generate engagement on social media.
You’ve undoubtedly seen some of these fake posts by now. Every other hour, a new post is made claiming that a fan-favorite celebrity has married their longtime love or suddenly adopted a child.
Lainey and Duck’s likenesses have recently been used in similar, false stories (which we won’t give direct attention here). AI-generated images of them getting married, singing a duet, and welcoming a baby have started circulating online. The images have been so widespread that Duck and Lainey themselves have seen them.
On July 19, Duck shared a message calling out those sharing fake posts about him and his fiancée. Someone off-camera, presumably Lainey, asked him, “What are you gonna tell AI?”
Laughing to himself, Duck said, “If you’re gonna put out stuff about us, I mean, at least make us look good…we look like s***”
Duck doubled down in his caption, writing, “Attention at those who make AI photos regarding our wedding, marriage and whatever other BS that comes out. Sincerely, The couple who hasn’t had a wedding or kids yet.”
