Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner Split In May 2023
After nearly 19 years of marriage, Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce from actor Kevin Costner in May 2023. The split came as a shock to fans, who thought they had the picture perfect marriage after all these years.
The divorce immediately turned contentious, mainly over their children.
In Baumgartner’s initial filing, she requested $248,000 a month in child support regarding their three children, Caden, Hayes, and Grace. On July 11, 2023, the judge required the actor to pay his former spouse $129,755 a month.
Baumgartner then filed a request to be paid $175,057 per month, eventually dropping it to $161,592, which Costner believed was “above the needs” of his children. The judge ruled in Costner’s favor in September 2023, lowering his monthly child support payments to $63,209.
It seems they managed to get on the same page, as their divorce was “settled” later that month, but it wasn’t finalized until February 2024.
Both Costner and Baumgartner Have Moved On
In January 2024, in the middle of divorce proceedings, it was reported that Baumgartner had begun dating a friend named Josh Connor.
However, photos obtained by TMZ reveal they had been getting closer for months beforehand. Baumgartner and Connor were spotted on a vacation in Hawaii with her three children in July 2023.
A source close to Baumgartner reveals that Connor was a neighbor and is a divorced dad, so he could understand everything that Baumgartner was going through.
Costner has been rumored to be linked to a few people in the last two years including singer Jewel, Jennifer Lopez, and Kelly Noonan Gores.
Baumgartner Marries Josh Connor
Baumgartner and Connor got engaged in January 2025 and were married on October 18 at Santa Ynez Ranch in Santa Barbara, California.
The couple said “I do” in front of 100 of their close family and friends, and their children. People reports that the ceremony and reception was “focused on love, family, and the beauty of their surroundings.”
A guest told the publications, “It was magical—truly. The setting was gorgeous, but what made it special was the intimacy of it all. This wasn’t a big production. It was authentic, heartfelt, and so very them.”
