In an exciting twist for fans of both country music and primetime drama, Kelsea Ballerini has made an appearance in the newly released trailer for ABC’s upcoming series, Doctor Odyssey.
This fresh nautical drama, set to premiere on September 26th on ABC and Hulu, promises a unique mix of medical intrigue and high-seas adventure.
Doctor Odyssey follows the lives of medical professionals aboard a luxury cruise ship, where the line between work and play often blurs. The series’ trailer teases a mix of medical emergencies, personal entanglements, and the extravagant lifestyle aboard the Odyssey. The crew prepares for everything from overboard passengers to potential collisions while maintaining the illusion of paradise for their guests.
Kelsea Ballerini’s cameo, seen in the opening moments of the trailer, adds star power to an already impressive cast led by Joshua Jackson of Dawson’s Creek fame.
While this isn’t Ballerini’s first time acting—she had a brief appearance on Nashville in 2016—it marks a big step in growing her on-screen presence. Additionally, her relationship with actor Chase Stokes, star of the hit TV show Outer Banks, has given her an insider’s view of the acting world.
The “Homecoming Queen” singer took to social media to share her excitement for her “guest star” role, describing her time on set as “literally screaming crying and throwing up in the dramatic, fabulous world of #doctorodyssey.” Her scene with Jackson’s Dr. Max Bankman suggests an interesting patient-doctor interaction that’s sure to catch viewers’ attention.

Sharp-eyed viewers will spot none other than Shania Twain sharing a dance with veteran actor Don Johnson. Other celebrity guest appearances will include John Stamos, Gina Gershon, and Chord Overstreet.
