Kane Brown Announces New Album, The High Road, And An Accompanying Tour
Kane Brown released a brand-new song, “Backseat Driver,” on Friday (October 11). The song’s debut came after Kane announced that his latest album, The High Road, will be released on January 24.
Kane also shared the cover art for The High Road. The image shows him standing in front of a rusty, worn-out car with the moon and clouds behind him.
The High Road will be Kane’s first studio album since 2022’s Different Man.
On top of announcing a new album, Kane also unveiled his plans for an accompanying tour. The High Road Tour will kick off on March 13 in San Diego, California. Mitchell Tenpenny, Scotty McCreery, Ashley Cooke, and Dasha will join Kane on the trek.
Kane Brown Releases “Backseat Driver,” A New Song About Life Through His Daughters’ Eyes
Those who catch one of Kane’s shows on The High Road Tour will get the chance to hear many of his new songs, including “Backseat Driver.”
Kane started teasing “Backseat Driver” on social media before its release. The sentimental song is an ode to Kane’s two daughters, Kingsley Rose and Kodi Jane.
Kane shares Kingsley and Kodi with his wife of six years, Katelyn. They also welcomed a son, Krewe Allen, on June 18, 2024.

In “Backseat Driver,” Kane sings about what life looks like through his daughters’ eyes. He shares some of the adorable and innocent questions they ask him in the car, such as, “Do squirrels have houses in the trees?” and “Why’d God put stingers on honeybees?”
Parents will surely tear up over the last few lines of the chorus, which go,“I wish I could be more like her. My little dangling feet, pretty in pink, backseat driver.”
In addition to releasing “Backseat Driver,” Kane also shared the song’s official music video. The video features cute clips of Kingsley and Kodi that play on a black-and-white TV.
