Kane Brown stole the spotlight at the 2024 ACM Awards, proving why he’s a strong contender nominee for Entertainer of the Year this year.
The annual event, known as “Country Music’s Party of the Year,” returned to the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas, drawing together the industry’s brightest stars. Hosting the evening was none other than country music icon Reba McEntire, a familiar face at the event, having hosted it 16 times in the past.
Kane Brown was among the star-studded lineup of performers announced last month, sharing the stage with country sensations like Jason Aldean, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, and Lainey Wilson.
In a classic black suit, Kane Brown delivered a standout performance of “Georgia On My Mind.”
The classic song, originally recorded by Ray Charles for his 1960 album The Genius Hits the Road, is an iconic tribute to Charles’s home state of Georgia. Kane was also raised in North West Georgia, bringing a little bit of home all the way to Texas at the ACM Awards.
Has Kane Brown Won an ACM Award Before?
This year, Kane was nominated for the night’s biggest award, Entertainer of the Year. Alongside him were country stars Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, and Lainey Wilson.
No stranger to the ACMs, Brown has a track record of success at the event. In 2023, he took home the Video of the Year award for his touching duet “Thank God,” which he sings with his wife, Katelyn. And in 2021, he made history by becoming the first solo Black artist to win the Video of the Year award with “Worldwide Beautiful.” Kane has also been honored with the ACM International Award for his efforts in contributing to the growth of country music worldwide.
