Kane Brown gets sentimental with a new song dedicated to his grandfather

Kane Brown has shared a glimpse of a very special song in the works. Today (July 17), he posted a screenshot on social media of the newly penned lyrics, which read as follows:

You’re still our hero /

You’re still the man /

Hell of a father /

And a damn good friend /

You could fix any problem /

With a wrench or some words /

Back bone of the family /

In front of that church /

Yea you kept every promise /

For worse or for better /

I’m writing you this /

So when you forget /

You can remember /

In the caption, Kane reveals that the song was written for his “Pepaw,” who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The condition is known for its devastating effects on memory and cognition, as is reflected in the lyrics.

The new song has not yet been recorded, but it will surely be a tear-jerker!

This is not the first time that the Georgia native has gotten real about feelings in his music. Kane and Katelyn Brown released their heartfelt duet “Thank God” in September 2022. The song rose to the #1 spot on the US Country Airplay charts and took home the CMT Music Award for Video of the Year.

Will this new song resonate with fans and repeat that success?

Kane Brown is leaning into family life

Kane is a dad himself and clearly understands the importance of father figures. The 30-year-old recently welcomed his third child and first son with his wife, Katelyn. The baby boy, Krewe Allen, joins sisters Kingsley Rose (4) and Kodi Jane (2).

Prior to Krewe’s birth, Kane told Extra:

“I love being a dad. It gives me a whole new outlook on life. I get to relive my childhood through my kids.”
