Kelsea Ballerini shared the story of obtaining her dream Nashville home from Kacey Musgraves in a “woman-to-woman” deal.
Thanks to Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini now owns her dream home! On a recent episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, the 30-year-old singer shared with host Alex Cooper how she finally secured the 1920s cottage she had initially attempted to purchase in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I tried to buy this house, and I was like, ‘I want a house that feels like I don’t have to be a full adult yet.’ And I saw this house on Zillow, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is my house.’ I tried to buy it. It didn’t work out. Another wonderful, amazing artist bought it,” she explained.

“She was going through a divorce at the time,” Ballerini adds, referring to the artist who ultimately acquired the keys. During that period, Ballerini explains, “I moved .9 miles down the road to a house I never really loved, but I needed to move out of the penthouse.”
Shortly after, Ballerini faced a similar challenging phase in her own life and unexpectedly received help from the individual who had acquired her coveted dream home.
“When I got divorced, I texted Kacey [Musgraves], who bought this house,” the “Penthouse” explained. She got in contact with Musgraves, 35, telling her to let her know if she was ever thinking about moving from the property. Sure enough, within about a month, she got a text back asking if she was being serious.
“We didn’t use real estate agents. It was woman-to-woman. And she was like, ‘This was my healing house.’ It makes me a little emo,” Ballerini recalls.
Musgraves and her musician husband, Ruston Kelly, split in July 2020 after almost three years of marriage.
Ballerini, who was married to fellow country artist Morgan Evans for nearly five years, filed for divorce in August 2022. They finalized their divorce in November.

In January, rumors circulated about Ballerini dating actor Chase Stokes after he shared a cozy photo of them at a football game. Confirming their romance, the pair made their red-carpet debut at the 2023 CMT Awards after being seen together on multiple occasions.
