For an exciting guest performance, Jelly Roll shut down the stage with his performance of his unreleased song, “I Am Not OK,” for the Season 25 finale of The Voice.
Since dropping his first country single “Son Of A Sinner” in 2021, Jelly Roll has defied conventions, solidifying his status as one of the genre’s most beloved artists. Following his critically acclaimed debut album, Whitsitt Chapel, Jelly is currently busy crafting his eagerly anticipated next project.
During an interview with Audacy radio station KMLE 107.9, Jelly discussed his recent accomplishments and offered insights into his future plans.
“I feel like the [2024 CMT Music Awards] were the end of the Whitsitt Chapel era. I performed ‘Need A Favor’ there for the first time which was the beginning of the Whitsitt Chapel era. Then, I performed ‘Halfway To Hell’ there which was my last single off the album. So, new music’s on the horizon. I’m excited, man. It’s a new chapter.”
While not much is known about the details of his forthcoming album, Jelly did unveil a new, unreleased track, “Liar,” during a live performance at the Grand Ole Opry, teasing fans with a glimpse of what’s to come. The track is expected to be one of the first songs to be made available from his upcoming album.
Jelly further heightened the anticipation by performing the new song at the 59th annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards on May 16, where he secured a nomination for Entertainer of the Year.
