Ingrid Andress Receives Backlash For Her Performance Of The National Anthem Before MLB’s Home Run Derby
Country singer Ingrid Andress broke her silence following her highly criticized National Anthem performance.
Andress was chosen to sing the National Anthem before the MLB’s Home Run Derby in Arlington, Texas, on Monday (July 15). The four-time Grammy nominee delivered her performance a cappella.

The performance quickly went viral, but not for positive reasons. Andress seemingly struggled through the performance, sang off-key, and failed to reach the high notes.
People compared her performance to other infamous renditions of the National Anthem by celebrities such as Fergie and Roseanne Barr.
Like Fergie and Roseanne before her, Andress received a lot of backlash for her performance. However, some viewers showed her some grace, noting how the National Anthem is challenging to sing.

Andress Breaks Her Silence After The Performance
Andress kept quiet on social media immediately after her performance. She finally broke her silence the following day, on July 16. In a simple and straightforward post on social media, she shared that she was intoxicated during the performance. She admitted that she would be checking herself into a facility to get the help that she needs.
