Cody Johnson stops show after seeing a fan’s sign.

On Saturday, January 20th, while performing at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Cody Johnson noticed a sign held by a young girl in the crowd that stopped him in his tracks. The sign read:

“I survived my bone marrow transplant to see CoJo.”

Johnson fought back emotion as he read the sign and stepped off of the stage to greet the fan. The two embrace as the crowd cheers. The encounter was so moving that Johnson took a moment to collect himself before starting his smash hit, “’Til You Can’t.”

“’Til You Can’t” gives a poignant reminder to make the most of the time that you have with loved ones, because you never know how long it will be until you can’t.

Johnson tells the crowd:

“Now I’m gonna actually need your help so sing it…”

He then turns his attention to the transplant survivor and says through tears:

“You don’t ever give up, you understand? Don’t you ever give up. Keep fighting strong.”

Cody Johnson is the father to two young girls.

Cody Johnson has two daughters with his wife Brandi: Clara Mae and Cori, who were born in 2015 and 2017, respectively. It is undoubtedly the feeling of a father’s love that stirred up such emotion in Johnson during the Anaheim concert.

We are praying for the young CoJo fan and her continued healing!
