Rory Feek found love again eight years after losing his wife

Singer/songwriter Rory Feek’s beloved wife and duet partner, Joey, passed away in 2016 following a battle with cancer. Earlier this year, Rory opened up about his journey through loss, grief, and rediscovering love in a heartfelt blog post titled Love Comes Softly.

He joyfully announced his new relationship with Rebecca, who had been teaching his daughter Indiana, or “Indy,” for the past five years. He wrote:

“I’ve discovered a truly wonderful, kind, generous person who is beautiful on the inside and out.”

Rory Feek marries Rebecca, surrounded by family and friends

Rory was hesitant to remarry, as he did not want anything to hinder the memory that his 10-year-old daughter Indy has of her late mother. However, he revealed in his most recent blog post that it was his sweet daughter that encouraged the nuptials.

One morning, as Rory, Rebecca, and Indy were praying together, Indy told her teacher, “Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa.” She then turned to her dad and said, “And I told Miss Rebecca that my Mama’s been gone a long time. And if she marries you, maybe she could be my new mother.”

Rory and Rebecca became husband and wife on Sunday, July 14, in Greycliff, Montana.

Rory Feek surprises his bride by singing his vows in a heartfelt original song

Along with news of the wedding, Rory shared the sweet surprise he planned for Rebecca. He wrote:

“I sang at a wedding this past weekend. The only thing was – the bride had no idea. Neither did most of the family and friends who came. So it was a big surprise for just about everyone there… except me.”

While at the altar during the ceremony, Rory stepped aside, grabbed his guitar, and sang his wedding vows in the form of an original song. The bride’s delight was visible on her face as she cried happy tears.
