Gwen Stefani recently spoke out about the status of her relationship with her husband, Blake Shelton.

In a candid interview with Nylon magazine, Stefani tackled the ongoing rumors about her relationship with country star Blake Shelton head-on. She firmly stated, “The truth is I am in love with my best friend,” ending any talk of a possible breakup.

Stefani didn’t shy away from discussing the challenges they face as a couple, including her own personal insecurities and doubts. These feelings, she revealed, were a source of inspiration for their latest duet, “Purple Irises,” giving fans a glimpse into the emotional depth of their relationship.

“I had been going through those times where you’re questioning: ‘Oh my gosh, am I just getting older? Am I cute?'” Stefani admitted in the interview. “In my own relationship, even though I know the truth of what’s happening today, you still create drama in your own mind about your insecurities and what might happen,” she added. “I was in that phase of the relationship with Blake and getting paranoid.”

Despite grappling with doubts and occasional paranoia, Stefani emphasized the resilience of their love.

“But when you’re in love and have truly aligned values, nobody can get to us. You can say whatever you want to say about our relationship — I mean, a week ago we were getting divorced again or something,” she says about a rumor she saw. “It’s just lies. The truth is the truth, and we know what that is.”

“And all this sh*t I’m thinking of in my brain, that’s all it is — I’m overthinking.”

Stefani and Shelton’s relationship began during their time as coaches on The Voice back in 2014, coinciding with their separate divorces. They eventually got married in 2021 on Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch, where they continue to live happily together.
