The Robertson family is growing!
On Friday, October 3, Duck Dynasty stars John Luke Robertson and his wife, Mary Kate, shared the exciting news that they’re expecting. And not just one baby…they revealed they’re getting ready to welcome twins!
The couple announced the news on Instagram with a sweet beach photo alongside their three kids. In the picture, their oldest son, John Shepherd, is seen holding the sonogram images.
“Absolutely thrilled to tell y’all we are welcoming TWINS to our family early next year!!! The most wonderful, crazy surprise blessing of our lives ha!” they wrote in the caption.
They also revealed the gender of the babies. John Luke and Mary Kate will be welcoming two baby girls to their family.

Fans of Duck Dynasty watched John Luke, Willie and Korie’s oldest son, grow up during the show’s original 11-season run. He was just 16 years old when it first aired, and viewers got to witness so many of his life’s biggest achievements.
One of those milestones was his wedding to Mary Kate in the summer of 2015, which was shown during a special episode.
In May 2019, the couple shared that they were expecting their first child, and later that year, on October 14, they welcomed their son, John Shepherd.
Their family grew again in 2021 with the birth of their daughter, Ella Kathryn, followed by their third child, a boy named Wells, in 2023.
Now, as they get ready to become a family of seven, John Luke and Mary Kate couldn’t be more excited. They also have the support of their friends and family, who all left love and congratulations on their pregnancy announcement.
“CAN’T WAITTTTTTT!!!!!! Kits besties,” Sadie, John Lukes’ younger sister wrote. She is referring to her own newborn baby girl.
“OH MY!!!!! How precious 😍😍 double the blessing!!!!” a friend wrote.
John Luke’s sister in law, Abby, commented, “I’m SO pumped for these little girls to be here.”
Korie also shared her own sweet post for her son and daughter-in-law’s exciting news. On Instagram, she posted photos of them on the beach during their announcement photoshoot. She captioned the post:
“Big news! We have TWO more little miracles on the way!! @marykaterob and @johnluke_robertson are expecting TWINS and our hearts are so full!!! John Luke and Mary Kate, Shep, Ella and Wells, you’ve got this 👶🏼👶🏼 I am so proud of your little growing family and can’t wait to be a twin Kmama 💗💗 @realwilliebosshog, that makes 11 grands for us! 🤗🤗 living the dream!”
