In a shocking move that dropped more than a few jaws, this young duo has called it quits – and the announcement seemingly came out of nowhere.
Signed to Broken Bow Records, Walker McGuire was often noted as being a “rising” group with explosive future and even was promoted by Pandora as one of their “2019 Artists To Watch” just a couple of months ago.
Now, the pair have split to go their separate ways and fans are sad.
The band, comprised of Jordan Walker and Johnny McGuire, had begun to spark a fire inside country music with the release of a self-titled EP in 2018 and even a wildly popular song under their belts.
Scheduled to play the 2019 Tortuga Music Festival, the news of their split comes as an abrupt shock to anyone who had been following them for even a short amount of time.
In a new post shared to their official Walker McGuire social media accounts, the duo confirmed the split in a statement and explained how to keep up with each artist going forward.
“As we posted earlier this week, we regret to inform everyone we’ve decided to end Walker McGuire. We want to thank everyone for their support and for following us on our journey the last five + years. You guys can keep up with Johnny on his new music page Johnny McGuire and follow Jordan on his Instagram @JordanWalker2.”
The post finished off with a statement saying that their group social media accounts will be deleted in a week’s time.
Visiting each member’s social media showed their own more-personal styled profile, but Johnny McGuire had already shared a post stating he was working on new music as an individual.
As of this writing, their website still shows tour dates through April 13th, 2019 but they are expected to be canceled in the coming days.
While we are saddened to see these two talented fellas end their working relationship, we are excited to see what the future holds and hear their new musical projects.
