Carrie Underwood is as glamorous as they get on stage and on American Idol, but off stage and off camera, Underwood is a simpleton who enjoys baking, gardening, and raising her farm animals.

Carrie Underwood Once Said She Lives A “Double Life”

During a 2023 interview with Modern Luxury Vegas Magazine, Underwood opened up about the difference in her life on stage and at home, even calling it a “double life.” When she is on stage, she is always dressed to the nines with her hair and makeup done, but at home, she is proud to live a low-key life in Nashville with her husband, Mike Fisher, and their sons, Isaiah and Jacob.

I love my role as a mom and wife,” Underwood said. “In addition to what I get to do onstage, I go to baseball practice. It’s wonderfully ordinary, and I love that. In a lot of ways, I lead a double life. I’m mom at home, and then I fly away to Vegas or to go on tour.”

She loves to garden, and often shows off her homegrown produce and all the things she makes with them.

I do very much enjoy gardening and homesteading,” she said. “We grow fruits, like apples and peaches, and I feel like I’m always making something, like mead, out of honey. It’s really cool when people come over, and you can serve them bread that you made or some hard apple cider from your orchard. I like doing stuff like that.”

The Underwood-Fisher Family Is Home To Many Animals

The Underwood-Fisher household is bustling with two young boys, and the three family dogs Penny, Zero, and Charlie. But they also have many other animals including donkeys named Jack, Diane, Little Diddy, and Chili Dog.

Jack and Diane are the donkey parents who welcomed both of their offspring while living on the Underwood-Fisher property.

In February, she shared a video of herself singing the 1992 Radiohead song “Creep” to her adorable flock of sheep. She changed the lyrics from “But I’m a creep,” to “But I’m a sheep!”

To prove that she has even more animals, a rooster in the background even joined in at the end of the song.

Carrie Added Two More Lambs To Her Flock

In a post made on March 16, Underwood revealed that her family welcomed two more animals to their growing farm, two “little orphan lambs” that they named Magnolia and Murray.

The first video featured the baby lamb adorably drinking from a bottle, and if you swipe, the next video features both Magnolia (Maggie for short) and Murray eating grass. The third slide of the carousel featured Carrie attempting to give them a bottle, which she said “took a few days for them to willingly take.”

She added, “Trying to be a good mama to these babies!”

To promote Monday, March 16th’s episode of American Idol, Underwood shared a few photos from her barn, writing, “Hey kids, ‘ewe’ better not miss @AmericanIdol tonight!”

Ewe (pronounced “you”) is another word for a female sheep.

It’s safe to say that Underwood’s animals are the cutest, and we bet she’s enjoying her time on her farm until she has to be back in Los Angeles for Idol’s live shows.
