What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas — especially if you’re Carrie Underwood and your mom wants to get matching tattoos.
Sunday, July 2, Carrie Underwood shared that she, her two sisters, and their mom got matching tattoos while in Las Vegas for Carrie’s residency.
“When your 74-year-old mother asks you and your sisters to get matching tattoos with her in Vegas, the only questions are, ‘what?’ and ‘where?’ I never would’ve thought I’d see the day that Mama Carole would be gettin’ some ink!” Carrie captioned a series of photos.
The pics show Carrie, her mom Carole, and sisters Shanna Means and Stephanie Shelton at Darek Riley’s tattoo shop getting small black heart tattoos. It’s unclear if this was Carrie’s sisters’ first ink, but it was indeed Mama Carole’s. Carole, Stephanie and Shanna opted to get theirs on their wrist, while Carrie had hers put on top of her foot.

This is the second tattoo in recent months for the “Before He Cheats” singer. In early May Carrie shared photos from a girls trip to Destin, Florida, where she and some of her closest friends, including some of her sisters-in-law, got some new ink.
“Sisters…not by blood…but sisters nonetheless. 💕God truly showed us great favor by putting us all together. These ladies are strong, kind and faithful and I’m so happy I get to do life with them!!! It’s true that you don’t get to choose your family, but if I could, I would choose these exact three women to be my sisters-in-law!” Carrie captioned a series of pictures.
In the pics, the ladies are seen hanging out on a boat, on the beach, and at the tattoo parlor. Underwood showed a close-up of a daisy tattoo on the inside of her forearm.
Carrie Underwood and her mom previously bonded in Las Vegas over a song, instead of a tattoo.
During a previous Vegas residency, Carrie invited Carole to join her on stage to sing “All-American Girl,” her 2007 hit from her album Carnival Ride. In the adorable clip, Carrie introduced her mom to the crowd and Carole acted like she had been on stage her whole life!
“I’m happy you’re here and I hope you enjoy the show,” Carrie’s mom enthusiastically told the crowd before joining Carrie to sing. The sweet moment had both of them laughing and clearly enjoying their time together on stage.
