Bindi Irwin Has Supported Her Brother Robert Throughout His Journey On Dancing With The Stars

As much as she wanted to be there, Bindi Irwin missed her brother Robert‘s performance on Dancing with the Stars‘ “Wicked Night.”

Bindi has been supporting her brother throughout his journey on DWTS this season. It’s a journey Bindi has been on herself, as she won Season 21 of DWTS in 2015.

Bindi and her family didn’t want to support Robert from afar. She, her husband, Chandler, and their daughter, Grace, temporarily moved from Australia to Los Angeles to be with him throughout his run on the competition.

Bindi and Robert’s mother, Terri, has also joined them in Los Angeles and in the ballroom. In fact, during “Dedication Night” on October 14, Terri appeared onstage with Robert at the end of his routine.

Robert and his professional partner, Witney Carson, dedicated the dance to Terri. She raised Robert and Bindi as a single mother following the death of their father, “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, in 2006.

Bindi, with tears in her eyes, rushed onstage to hug her brother after his dance. Reflecting on the moment later, she said, “[It was] the most remarkable, moving, healing night. Beyond proud of Robert, Witney and my beautiful mum. I’m speechless.”

Why Bindi Couldn’t See Robert’s “Wicked Night” Performance In Person

Unfortunately, Bindi wasn’t able to watch Robert dance for “Wicked Night” on October 21. Before the episode, Bindi explained the reason why fans wouldn’t see her in the ballroom that evening.

We absolutely adore being in the audience to celebrate Uncle Robert on @dancingwiththestars. This week, Grace has a little cold so we’re going to cheer from our living room,” Bindi shared in a post next to a picture of her and Grace in the ballroom the previous week.

Bindi said she would proudly watch Robert’s dance on TV instead. He and Witney performed a lively jazz routine set to the tune of “Dancing Through Life.”

The pair earned lots of compliments from the judges, with Bruno Tonioli telling them, “It really was a joyful, theatrical treat. You handled every situation brilliantly. Your energy, your determination, and your commitment to every performance are laudable.”

The four judges each gave Robert and Witney a “9,” bringing their total score for the night to 36. They survived elimination and will now dance during a Halloween-themed night on October 28.
