One week ago Carrie Underwood returned to the spotlight after a 5 month hiatus following a fall that left her with a broken wrist and more than 40 stitches in her face. During her performance during Sunday night’s ACM Awards, Underwood gave fans their first look at her face after recovery.

In the days following her ACM appearance, she began talking to media where she shared the details of her accident and recovery, saying that she tripped while taking her dogs out for a walk. When she fell, she attempted to catch herself with her right hand and instead broke her wrist. She also landed on her face causing injuries around her mouth.

“I’ve been very fortunate in the healing process,” she said. “I was lucky that when it happened, everything was kind of shutting down in the music world and we had the holidays and stuff like that. I was at a point where I didn’t know how things were going to end up. I didn’t know what was going to go on. I didn’t know what it was going to heal like.”

In a new photo posted to Instagram on Friday, the 35-year old shared a photo that shows her scar on her top lip. In the photo, Carrie, whose husband is NHL player Mike Fisher, is seen wearing a Nashville Predators cap.

“Ready to cheer on the boys tonight! Especially that #12! I hear he’s alright! @mfisher1212 @predsnhl#LetsGoPreds,” she wrote.
