One thing about Reba McEntire is that she’s always going to take a moment to gush about her relationship with Rex Linn.
McEntire and Linn have been happily together for almost five years now, but they’ve known each other for more than two decades.
McEntire and Linn first met in 1991 on the set of the film The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw. From there, they became friends and kept in touch over the years. It wasn’t until 2020, however, that they went on a dinner date, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Reba Says Her Relationship With Rex Has Given Her a “Newfound Strength”
During an interview with Us Weekly, Reba opened up about the exciting things happening in her life right now, including her return as a coach on The Voice for the second time and her new sitcom about to air. She also mentioned that having Rex by her side is the central point of everything in her life falling into place.
“I think it’s a newfound strength. Once you’re confident in your love life, your at-home life, then you can go out and conquer the world,” Reba explained.
Before Rex, Reba had been married twice—first to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987, and later to Narvel Blackstock, with whom she shared a 26-year marriage before their split in 2015. This time around, when asked how her relationship with Rex has changed her, Reba says she truly feels that they have made each other better.
“I think we have made each other better,” says Reba. “Rex brings out the little girl in me and I have fun. I’m dorky, I’m goofy. He is too. We love to laugh, and we love each other.”
Reba Reveals If She Ever Wants to Get Married Again
After experiencing two divorces, Reba is often asked if she sees herself ever marrying Rex. While she has admitted she would consider it, Reba says that she and Rex are very content with their relationship as it is and don’t feel the need to rush into anything.
“It really makes no difference to me,” Reba said. “I’m fine with the way we are. If Rex ever wants to get married, then we’ll talk about it, but I’m fine. I love our relationship 100 percent.”
Reba Talks About What It’s Like to Work With Her Significant Other
Not only are Reba and Rex together outside of work, but they have also had multiple opportunities to work on-screen together as well. Reba’s new sitcom Happy’s Place is set to air on October 18, and her real-life boyfriend will have a major role in the show, playing a line cook named Emmett.
This won’t be the first time they’ve worked together either. Reba and Rex have collaborated on multiple projects over the years, including a Lifetime movie, ABC’s Big Sky, and Young Sheldon.
And although some couples couldn’t imagine working together, Reba said that she and Rex have no issue with it.
“Rex and I are best friends. We have the same likes and dislikes. We’re foodies. We love to cook. We each wanted to be a cowboy and a cowgirl. Then we got into the entertainment business instead. Our dynamic works on and off-screen.”
