The Kelly Clarkson Show Is Ending After Season 7

On February 2, Kelly Clarkson confirmed that her namesake talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, will end after its seventh season.

This season will be my last hosting TKCS. Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” Clarkson said.

The news came following longstanding rumors that Clarkson had considered leaving the program once her contract with NBC ended. These rumors started surfacing after Clarkson took a sudden leave of absence from the show in March 2025. When she returned, she said she needed to step away because her family had been going through a dark week.”

Then in August, Clarkson’s ex-husband and father of her two children, Brandon Blackstock, passed away following a battle with cancer. The Kelly Clarkson show was between seasons at the time.

The show’s seventh season started in September. In a Q&A the show shared after the New Year, Clarkson offered insight into how her kids have been coping since their father passed away.

There’s been a lot for our family recently, and so I have allowed my kids to sleep with me quite a bit,” she said. “It’s my two dogs, my two kids, and me. It’s a lot. It’s been really special, though, because…the conversations you have during that time are pretty cute. So that’s probably my favorite time of day.”

What’s Next For Kelly Clarkson After Her Talk Show Ends?

When Kelly Clarkson shared her statement about her talk show ending, she also revealed what she plans to do next. Many worried she would step away from the spotlight entirely.

But thankfully, it seems like that won’t be the case. She assured her fans, “This isn’t goodbye,” saying:

I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time…you never know where I might show up next.”

In fact, fans can catch Clarkson on The Voice sooner rather than later. She’s one of the coaches on Season 29, which premieres on February 23.

The season will be unlike any other, featuring only three coaches instead of four: Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine. The show is adopting a “Battle of the Champions” format and plans to introduce new elements, such as a “Super Steal” power and a “Triple Turn Competition.”

The Voice recently released the first trailer for Season 29, which you can watch below.
