Are New Year’s Resolutions Really A Good Idea?

It is that time of year again when gyms are full, and people are setting their New Year’s resolutions.

Whether you want to be healthier, start a new career, get your finances in order, or maybe you want to start a fun hobby. New Year’s resolutions are in full swing.

However, is setting New Year’s resolutions always the best idea? Miranda Lambert thinks not.

Researchers suggest that only 9% of Americans complete their resolutions. According to a recent study, 23% of people quit their resolutions by the first week, and 43% don’t even make it to the end of January. A whopping 80% fail by the end of February.

With a success rate of only about 10%, it begs the question: Why are we all setting New Year’s resolutions?? Bunnie XO Interviewed Miranda Lambert and asked the question.

Bunnie took over the CMT Instagram account ahead of CBS Network’s 2024 New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash and interviewed some of the headlining performers. She interviewed Lainey Wilson, Luke Bryan, and Tyler Hubbard, who all performed to ring in the new year.

Miranda Lambert’s Take On Resolutions

Bunnie interviewed Lambert about her New Year’s resolutions. Bunnie Asked: “What is a New Year’s Eve resolution that you, for some reason, just cannot seem to nail it?”

The country singer might be on to something. Instead of setting specific goals, she sets broad intentions for her life. In her own words:

“Oh, God. It’s usually cussing less, drinking less, less of everything. But you know, I stopped setting, like, resolutions. I set intentions now. Which is a little bit more doable and, like, less scary.”

Lambert did admit that she loves a good vision board and that the one she made for 2024 was a massive success. Bunnie asked her, My favorite thing to do before the first of the year is to make vision boards. Have you ever done that?”

Lambert responded:

“I love that. I did it last year. And almost everything on there has come true. Isn’t that crazy? I believe in it.”

Lambert also discussed who she would choose to go to jail with, her husband’s thoughts on her new song, and more. Watch the full interview below!
