Viral Video Shows Kid Trading His Lunch For Beef Jerky

There’s no such thing as a free lunch… and apparently there’s no such thing as free beef jerky either.

This, we learn, thanks to a TikTok video that shows a creative kid making his first splash in the American free market economy.

We’ve all seen lemonade stands.

We’ve even seen “psychiatric help” offered for five cents by Lucy in Peanuts.

And what kid hasn’t ever made a little money by mowing a neighbor’s lawn?

There’s a multitude of things young people can sell or do to make a little money, but I bet selling beef jerky wasn’t on your list.

“So apparently my son has created a general store at his school and is selling beef jerky,” reads the caption on a TikTok video of a boy working a general store booth on a playground.

Written in crayon, a sign reads, “Beef jerky stand.”

On the countertop, there are two beef jerky displays.

No money is exchanged in this humorous video, but goods are traded between the young customer and the clever sunglass-wearing kid operating the beef jerky stand.

Surrendering his complete bagged lunch, the customer receives a generous portion of beef jerky in return.

In the comments, several major companies have chimed in, with Play-Doh commenting, “A young entrepreneur I see.”

Duracell said, “Business is business.”

The clothing brand Anthropologie wrote, “We know an entrepreneur when we see one.”
