In A “Precision-Timed Aerial Moment,” The Drones Created The Likeness Of An American Flag By Releasing Red, White, And Blue Smoke

Few things are as American as baseball, and as the MLB season began on Wednesday, March 25, its Opening Night game saw an incredible display of patriotism.

Before the New York Yankees faced off against the San Francisco Giants, an American flag in the shape of the continental United States was held across the field.

Then, in the sky over Oracle Park, with Mission Bay seen in the distance, 1,000 drones could be seen, flying in perfect alignment with one another.

At the opportune moment, they then released a series of red, white, and blue, puffs of smoke, creating the impression of an American flag in the sky. As the smoke dissipated, the colors washed together before drifting away… but the memory will last much longer.

“Pyro drones are reshaping the possibilities of live events,” said Rocco Vitale, president of Pyrotecnico, in a press release. “Designed for visibility, precision, and impact even in full daylight, this fusion of drones and pyrotechnics unlocks a new category of aerial storytelling.”

He added, “The opportunities to elevate an experience are limitless.”
