Singer Kirbi Auditioned For Season 28 Of The Voice
24-year-old singer Kirbi, whose real name is Savannah Kirby, traveled from Florence, Alabama to Los Angeles, California to audition for The Voice and pursue her dreams of being a singer.
She announced that she auditioned for The Voice to her followers on social media on September 8, prior to the show’s premiere.
Kirbi Auditioned With An Emotional For King + Country Song
After teasing her appearance on the show for a couple weeks, Kirbi’s turn to grace our screens finally came on Tuesday (September 30).
She performed Christian duo For King + Country’s hit song “God Only Knows” – and dedicated it to her late grandma. The duo released the song in January 2019 of their album Burn the Ships and it reached No. 1 on Billboard‘s Christian Airplay chart.
In August 2019, they released a remix with Dolly Parton, and even performed it with her at the 2019 CMA Awards.
Kirbi’s audition was incredibly well-received by the coaches. Niall Horan and Michael Bublé turned first, followed by Reba McEntire and Snoop Dogg.
“Kirbi, we wait all day for voices like yours. This is absolutely incredible. From second one…the vocal delivery you gave was next level,” Horan told her, before telling her she’d look cute in one of his Team Niall hoodies.
He reminder her of the success he’s had on the show, winning both seasons he has appeared on, before letting another coach get a word in!
McEntire asked Kirbi what genre she enjoys the best, to which the singer replied, “I grew up singing country blues, we got that a little in common, I think.”
Kirbi added that her faith is very important to her and she also enjoys to sing Christian music, which is why she chose “God Only Knows.
When it came time for Kirbi to choose her coach, she had to think very hard, but she ultimately chose…Niall!
Fans across all social media platforms agree that this was one of the best auditions we’ve seen this season, with some even predicting she would win!
